If your tool isn’t on Inverness, learn how to update its operating system [here](https://support.shapertools.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000430514?hsLang=en)* You can copy objects in your workspace by clicking the **Copy** button. The **Copy** button appears when you move Origin’s reticule over an object. ![Copy\_Button.jpg](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Copy_Button-4.jpg?width=517&height=330&name=Copy_Button-4.jpg) Your copied object will be overlaid on top of the original object within a white bounding box. You can use this bounding box to accurately place your copied object within your Workspace’s Grid by locking your object to Grid coordinates. If you move Origin by a small amount, your copied object will detach from the original object and follow Origin’s reticule as you move. ![Copy\_Behaviour.gif](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Copy_Behaviour-1.gif?width=515&height=307&name=Copy_Behaviour-1.gif) When you copy an object, a menu will open which contains functions including Position, Scale, Rotate, Anchor, and Snap. ![Place\_Mode\_Menu.jpg](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Place_Mode_Menu-1.jpg?width=514&height=305&name=Place_Mode_Menu-1.jpg) #### Position Position shows you the location of your copied shape and allows you to quickly lock it in a new location by entering Grid coordinates. When width and height are linked, your object will scale proportionally. Turn off the ‘link/unlink’ button to alter these dimensions independently of one another.
