Specifications for Cut Planning and Fixturing
Custom fixtures can be created to accompany Plate. We've created a Door Mortising Fixture for installing door hinges, and look forward to seeing what other fixtures the Community comes up with. Find all of Plate's measurements in this ShaperHub file: Shaper Plate Fixture Creation Kit.
Some key measurements for creating fixtures and cut planning follow:
Cut Window
-
Total Window area measures 160mm wide by 120mm tall
-
The upper width is 170mm
-
-
The Reticle engages at the center of the window
-
50mm from deployed front fence,
-
60mm from bottom edge of window
-
-
The Fence deploys 50mm below the Plate window's horizontal centerline
-
This reduces the overall window size by 10mm, to 110mm
-
-
The horizontal grid reference points are 50mm to the left and right from center and reference the engaged Fence
-
The edge flags are positioned 70mm to the left and right of the Plate window's veritcal centerline. This is mirrored in markings on the Fence.
Accessory Rail Holes
The Accessory Rail features both threaded and unthreaded holes to use with screws or dowels
- Each corner features two M5 threaded holes
- The first is 10mm to center from the edge of Plate
- The next hole hole is spaced 15mm on center
- The Accessory Rail holes run sequentially every 25mm from the inner of the threaded corner holes and alternate threaded and non-threaded
- The distance between the top and bottom hole is 430mm center to center
- The distance between the left and the right rail is 346mm center to center
- The threaded holes are standard M5x0.8 pitch. The dowel holes are 5mm in diameter.
