If you have created a design file to engrave and find that not all of your letters or cut paths are visible on Origin once you place the design, this may be because your cut paths are encoded incorrectly.
When creating a design for engraving, you want to ensure that all your cut paths are encoded as online cuts. This way, all your cut paths will remain intact when exporting your text to Origin.
For a general overview of cut type encoding, see here.
You can assign this cut type either within your design program, or on-tool.
To change the cut type encoding of your letters on-tool:
- Set your cutter diameter to .001" and your offset to 0". This will ensure that Origin will highlight all your cut paths as cuttable.
- In Cut Mode, move Origin over the cut path in question, tap On-Line, and then cut each line.
- Keep in mind that 'cut type' is a per line attribute. In other words, you should cut each line once you have changed its cut type, to prevent reversion to a previous cut type as designated by the design file.
