Shaper Origin does not have a system-level on/off switch. When you are done using Origin, simply unplug it from the wall. Think of Origin more like a power tool than a computer; there is no need to "safely" power down from within the software interface (your progress and workpiece data is saved automatically).
To reduce power consumption, Origin automatically enters a low-power mode when sitting idle. This low-power mode will turn on only when Origin's camera is facing a previously-scanned workspace.
The on/off switch on the front of the spindle is only responsible for powering the spindle motor on and off. Always put the spindle into the off position and unplug its cable from Origin when doing bit-change operations or handling the spindle in any way.
There is no need to unplug Origin when doing bit-change operations. It is necessary only to unplug and remove the spindle from the spindle mount.
