Import Workspace
Origin's Larkspur update added several features to Design Mode including Import Workspace. More information on updating Origin can be found here.
Import Workspace allows you to place a design you've made or placed on-tool to another Workspace. This helps you quickly access past designs and set them up without needing to start from scratch.
Import from Workspace
To import from a previously used Workspace:
- Create a new Workspace by starting a Scan
- Once in Design Mode, tap Import
- Tap Workspaces to browse past Workspaces
- Tap the Workspace you'd like to import:
- Align the Import as needed and tap Place or click the green button
The pattern will be grouped together and treated as a single object.
Using a Grid both on the source Workspace and the target Workspace will help with alignment. The 0,0 point of the Grid in the source Workspace will align to a Custom Anchor.
If the source Workspace doesn't have a Grid, Origin will try to align it properly but it may require some rotation to get the position just right.

Use Cases
Mortises and Tenon: Creating a mortise shape on-tool can now be imported to another workspace. Cut your tenon on Workstation then import the shape to a Plate Workspace!
Repeat Cutting: Peeled up the tape on your workpiece? Now you can create a new Workspace and place the design relative to the same 0,0 point on your Grid!
