Troubleshooting BenchPilot Connection Issues

Origin may encounter issues when trying to connect to BenchPilot. Below are a list of checks to help you troubleshoot connection issues:

  • Check that BenchPilot is powered on. A small light should be illuminated towards the rear of the Left Arm. This light has various states to indicate the mode that BenchPilot is currently operating in. Refer to this article for more information about BenchPilot’s Status LED.
  • Is BenchPilot connected to another Origin? If you are operating BenchPilot in an area containing more than one Origin, BenchPilot may have connected to one of the other Origin’s nearby. Power off the other Origin units so that BenchPilot will see only the Origin you wish to connect to.
  • Is BenchPilot’s Status LED illuminated in RED. If so, your BenchPilot has encountered an issue and you’ll need to contact Shaper Support for help.
  • Ensure that BenchPilot’s UID marker which is located directly behind Origin when docked is clean so that Origin’s camera has a clear view of it.
  • Are you operating Origin and BenchPilot close to devices which may interfere with BenchPilot’s wireless radio. Ensure that BenchPilot is not in the immediate vicinity (less than 3 meters) of devices such as a Wi-Fi router or Microwave oven.

If you are still experiencing issues after checking the above troubleshooting steps, contact Shaper Support who will be happy to assist you.
