"Aborting cut - Ensure Origin can see sufficient ShaperTape" Error Message

Aborting_Cut_Ensure_Origin_can_see_sufficient_ShaperTape.png

While cutting, Origin continually evaluates the quantity of scanned tape in its viewfield. It uses this tape to locate itself in the Workspace and to calculate the velocity and direction of its movement.

The tape meter in the top right-hand corner of the screen indicates how much tape is visible at any given moment. If it turns red, you should reorient Origin to bring more scanned tape into Origin’s view field. If you continue to cut with a red tape meter, you will likely receive this error message. Origin will retract the cutter rather than risk jeopardizing your cut quality.

Avoiding Low Tape Health

With the spindle retracted powered off, move Origin over the entire cut path of your design, while keeping an eye on the tape meter. Wherever it dips below half-full, rotate the tool to change Origin’s field of vision. If this rotation does not improve your ‘tape health,’ you should add more tape that will be visible while cutting the problem area of your cut path and add to your scan.

Once you have added to your scan, go over your design one more time to be sure that your tape meter remains at least half-full throughout. Once you've assured yourself of proper tape visibility at all points along your cut path, return to your cut screen.
