Updating Origin's Software

This article discusses OTA (over-the-air-updates). Don't want to update over WiFi? Read about updating via USB here.

Your Origin will automatically check for updates when it is connected to Wi-Fi. When an update is available, you will see a blue notification badge on Origin's screen on the Settings Icon:

If you're on Emeryville (2.5.5.0 or earlier):

Confirm that you do not yet have the latest software by following these steps.  If you have the latest version, there is no need to continue.

  1. Ensure your Origin is connected to WiFi.

  2. Leave Origin plugged in for 5-10 minutes. Feel free to continue to use your tool. The update will download in the background.

  3. Unplug Origin and plug it back in.

  4. You will see a confirmation screen after the update has been installed.
