# Capturing your Drawing
Once your drawing is ready for **Capture**, open the [**Trace App**](https://trace.shapertools.com) and grant the App permission to use your device's camera.
Point your camera at the **Frame** in a well-lit area. Make sure all four corners of the Frame are visible in the camera feed. For best results, hold your camera at a slight angle to the Frame.
*Note: Avoid casting shadows onto your drawing, as this can interfere with the capture. You may have issues capturing your drawing if there is insufficient light or if dark shadows are being cast over all or part of the Frame. *
When the camera sees the Frame, the camera feed will turn black and white and you will be able to click the capture button to convert your drawing to vectors.
