The 6mm x 30mm Up-Spiral Flat Router Bit is perfect for deep finish passes when an 8mm diameter is too big. Due to the three sharp edges, it cuts fast and clean and can handle quite large feed rates. This bit requires special attention to the points and table below, since it can break if used incorrectly.
Notes
- If cutting in full material, don‘t exceed a step size of 10mm per pass. This bit is not designed for deep rough cuts and may break if cut pressure is too great
- Use small offsets when cutting with the grain, especially wood types with long fibers and large pores such as Oak or Ash. Cutting against the grain can cause chatter and significant decrease in cut quality
- The long edge combined with the small diameter can create a lot of downward pressure on the bit. Therefore it‘s necessary to tighten the collet particularly hard
- Using the correct spindle speed is key with this router bit. If it’s too fast, the bit will have a shorter service life. See table below for more information
- Cleaning from time to time will considerably increase the service life of this bit
- Chipboard will reduce the overall lifespan of this bit
