[Adobe Illustrator](https://support.shapertools.com/designing-for-origin?hsLang=en#adobe-illustrator) # Adobe Illustrator SVG save settings To save files for Origin from **Adobe Illustrator** first select **Save As** in the **File** menu and select the **SVG** file type (see image below) to save the file as an SVG.   ![export-Nov-08-2024-06-20-08-9528-PM](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/export-Nov-08-2024-06-20-08-9528-PM.png?width=600&height=514&name=export-Nov-08-2024-06-20-08-9528-PM.png) An **SVG Options menu** will appear providing **Advanced Settings**.  **Note: If your file contains live text (text that has not been converted to paths), you must select the "Convert to outline" option in Type.** The Settings shown below provide the most reliable SVG compatibility with Origin. ![settings](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/settings.png?width=476&height=650&name=settings.png) *Note: On Illustrator 28.4.1 and later use SVG Basic 1.1 as your SVG Profile. For previous versions you can use SVG 1.1 as your SVG Profile. Edit: This is only necessary if your Origin is not on Lakespur or newer.
