[Before Cutting](https://support.shapertools.com/autopass?hsLang=en#before-cutting) # Adjusting the ramp angle (plunge speed) ## Adjusting the ramp angle You can use the **Plunge Speed** setting in Origin’s [**Speeds Menu**](https://support.shapertools.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003345033?hsLang=en) to adjust the angle of the ramp between each pass. Ramping results in superior cut quality and prolongs the life of your router bits.
