Adjusting the ramp angle (plunge speed)
Adjusting the ramp angle
You can use the Plunge Speed setting in Origin’s Speeds Menu to adjust the angle of the ramp between each pass. Ramping results in superior cut quality and prolongs the life of your router bits.
To adjust the plunge speed, go to Cut Mode and tap Speeds.
The angle of the ramp is measured from the surface of your workpiece. 0 degrees is exactly parallel to the surface of your workpiece, 90 degrees is exactly perpendicular to the surface of your workpiece.
A faster plunge speed will result in a steeper, shorter ramp into each pass. |
A slower plunge speed will result in a shallower, longer ramp angle. |
Learn more about which ramp angle is best for your project in our AutoPass Material Recommendations.
