[Plan Mode](https://support.shapertools.com/studio?hsLang=en#plan-mode) # Cut Plan Menu ## Plan Mode allows you to encode some cut specs into your design so it's ready to cut when you load it onto Origin. Not all of these features will apply if you're preparing your file for another device or use. #### Cut Type You can select cut types for your paths globally or individually. Choose from common presets or type in a custom value. Depth will set the [Encoded Depth](https://support.shapertools.com/hc/en-us/articles/10400926390683-encoded-depth?hsLang=en) on Origin. ![depth.gif](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/depth-2.gif?width=650&height=369&name=depth-2.gif) #### Offset See how an offset will affect your design and plan accordingly. Offsets are not carried into the design when it's placed on Origin. ![offset.gif](https://support.shapertools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/offset-2.gif?width=650&height=369&name=offset-2.gif) #### Bit Diameter Select from the list of pre-set bit diameters or enter a custom bit diameter to visualize how your cut will be made with a selected cutter.
